With stricter emission standards, modern vehicles with internal combustion engines are forced to carry with them real chemical plant, which should reduce emission of harmful gases, air pollutants and particles. System by itself, have become very complex, components expensive and diagnostics complicated and demanding.
Do you know how does the low pressure exhaust gases recirculation system (which become standard equipment in addition to known high pressure EGR) work? How does DOC or SCR catalytic converter work, and how you can check one? Which systems, and which components can affect operation of diesel particulate filter system? When is appropriate to perform regeneration, when cleaning and when replacement of DPF? How does the DPF system with additive work, and what can cause failure? How to test wide band oxygen sensor or NOx sensor? When to start the regeneration, and when will it be forced to stop? Why do we have DTC, and is the forced regeneration always the answer?
On the new training we will try to answer most of those questions.
