What will you learn?

In over 80% of cases, the cause of turbocharger failure is not sought, leading to repeated failures. Diagnostics of the injection system can sometimes be quite complicated, but with the right measurements and signal analysis the process is greatly simplified?

Why is this important?

The cost of turbochargers and a large number of injection system components is very high. Correct and accurate diagnostics are of crucial importance in this case.

How will this training improve your work?

Misdiagnosis in any part of the Common Rail diesel engine system can be very expensive, and can lead to causal, also very expensive, failures. Correct diagnosis, timely analysis of the cause of failure and correct repair save a lot of time and money.

Training content

The training is primarily intended for participants who have completed the first part of the training for managing diesel engines, and the goal is to deepen knowledge and apply advanced diagnostics when working with these systems, primarily with new generation turbochargers, nozzles and flowmeters.

Theoretical part (30%)

– Types and types of turbochargers (Wastegate, VTG, Bi-Turbo…);
– Working principle, parameters, temperatures, oil flow, control;
– Systems affecting the operation of the turbocharger;
– Analysis of failure and cause of turbocharger failure;
– Vacuum, electric and electronic control of turbocharger operation;
– Principle of operation of different types of diesel;
– Principle of operation of different types of MAF sensors;
– New types of heaters with piezo elements;

Practical part (70%)

– Examination and diagnosis of parameters that affect the operation of the turbocharger;
– Turbocharger sealing test;
– Disney check:
– By measuring the return line
– Through corrections
– Vacuum pump
– By measuring voltage and current signals with an oscilloscope
– Analysis of signals during various diesel failures
– By measuring the pressure sensor signal with an oscilloscope
– Principle of operation and electrical dimensions of the PSG heater
– Measurement and analysis of cylinder pressure during engine operation.
