What will you learn?

What to do when all the lights on the dashboard are on, but the diagnostic device cannot connect to the vehicle? Why don't we have communication with some control unit?

Why is this important?

In order to have the correct functioning of all components and control units on today's vehicles, it is necessary to provide them with good communication.

How will this training improve your work?

A problem in the communication lines can lead to numerous problems on the vehicle, from the loss of operation of certain functions to the impossibility of starting and using the vehicle. Unfortunately, unprofessional repair can only make these problems worse.

Training content

Through practical work and measurements on vehicles and special training models of various communication protocols, the necessary knowledge for understanding and diagnosing the communication network is acquired. During the practical work, the training participants will solve different types of malfunctions and failures on the CAN and LIN bus.

Theoretical part (30%)

– Identification of components and control units on the communication network;
– The working principle of the communication protocol;
– The method of transmitting information on the communication network.

Practical part (70%)

– Physical quantities and their measurement;
– Interpretation of measured signals from the communication network;
– CAN B (comfort bus), principle of operation, physical dimensions and measurements;
– Fault diagnostics on the CAN B bus network;
– Diagnostics of individual failures on the CAN B bus network;
– Diagnostics of the complete failure of the CAN B bus network;
– CAN C (drive) bus, principle of operation, physical dimensions and measurements;
– Diagnosis of failure of individual components on the CAN C network;
– Diagnostics of the complete failure of the CAN C network;
– LIN bus, principle of operation, physical dimensions and measurements;
– Failures of components and the entire LIN bus network system.
